TENTH Annual URBAN TRAIL FUN RUN & BBQ

10k (NEW!) OR 1/2 Marathon

Get your trail shoes on and test your endurance while seeing a different side of downtown with the TENTH ANNUAL A&C P.T. URBAN TRAIL FUN RUN, 10k (NEW!) OR 1/2 MARATHON August 4th. Family and friends are encouraged to join and volunteers are welcome!  For those not interested in event participation who still want to join us for the BBQ and park fun, please join us but consider a $10 donation for lunch.

Participants and fans are guaranteed a great time and nothing but smiles. The course offers a little mud, sweat and cheers same as the previous nine years! New friendships will be forged and calves strengthened battling the deviously challenging trails. Powered by volunteer-run aid stations offering hydration drinks, GORP and fresh fruit, all participants, whether a walker or runner, are guaranteed a well-fueled finish!

The 2018 fun-run route is the same as in years past - out & back: From Capitol Hill’s Cal Anderson Park to University of Washington via trails and back without pounding the pavement or waiting for stoplights.  After a short warm-up on the road, the 1/2 marathon course quickly transitions to trail. Run past the water tower in Volunteer Park (the highest point of the course at nearly 500 ft), then Boren Park’s challenging single-track twisting into Interlaken. Before turning around to tackle the hills back up, runners must challenge their navigation skills through the Arboretum's lush labyrinth, balance over the surreal 520 floating bridges and over the often muddy Marsh Island!  Our course will liberally marked with ribbon and course arrows in addition to volunteers to help ensure you are on the right track. *Be advised course changes may be made up until the day of the event if necessitated by variable trail conditions.*

WHEN: Saturday August 4TH

CHECK-IN: 30 minutes prior to the start of your event.

PRE-RACE BRIEFING: 15 minutes before the start of your event.                                                                                 

START TIME: ½ Marathon Walkers 9 am. ½ Marathon Runners 9:30 am, 10k Walkers 10 am.  10k Runners 10:30 am.  Start times are flexible if you want to start at a different time with a friend in another event, or do not know what your run/walk strategy is.  BBQ will be available from 11:30 -2 pm.

START LOCATION: Cal Anderson Park: NE side, just behind the playground.

There will be TWO AID STATIONS and plenty of goodies to go around.  Just bring a friend, good humor and trail shoes. Everyone is invited regardless of age or experience.  You can always walk!  The aid station will be the turn around point for those choosing the 10k option.

A FULLY CATERED BBQ will await participants at the finish line from Smokin' Pete's BBQ.  Enjoy pulled pork, chicken, cole-slaw, cornbread and more while receiving AWARDS AND PRIZES!

SUGGESTED DONATION IS $40, ALTHOUGH ANY AMOUNT IS APPRECIATED.  IT INCLUDES A T-SHIRT AND LUNCHTO GUARANTEE YOUR T-SHIRT SIZE, REGISTER NOW. We will have a limited number extra shirts in various sizes at the start of the race, but don't count on your size being in stock if you wait until race-day!
